Audition Requirement

 

 

I. For Individual Applicants of FQS

  1. The Audition Repertoire required in the “Chamber Music and Orchestra” session. (Please find the audition list under the CMO instrument list.)
  2. Quartet excerpts as following for each instrument:

*Violin – Beethoven op. 59 no.1, 4th mov’t: mm. 1-99

*Viola – Beethoven op. 59 no. 2, 1st mov’t; mm 72-210

*Cello – Mozart K.589, 2nd mov’t, mm 32-57, mm 75-end

II. Apply as a “Pre-Formed Quartet”

  1. Each member of the quartet should submit the same audition videos as the individual applicants listed above.
  2. In addition, a video of a complete quartet movement of the group is required.

 

         

  1. A Standard Concerto Movement (with or without piano. Live performance accepted.)
  2. Mozart: Symphony No. 39, Mvt. I: m. 26 (Allegro) to m. 97
  3. Brahms: Symphony No. 4, Mvt. I: m. 392 to end

 

         

  1. First Movement of a standard Viola Concerto (with or without piano. Live performance accepted.)
  2. Mendelssohn Scherzo from Midsummer Night’s Dream from beginning to rehearsal D

  4. Mendelssohn: Symphony #3 (Scottish) 2nd Movement
