Audition Information
The Taipei Music Academy and Festival (TMAF) is an international educational music festival held annually in Taipei, Taiwan. For our 2026 edition, we are honored to have acclaimed maestro Hans Graf leading the TMAF Orchestra on a concert tour alongside principal players from prestigious ensembles such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra (USA), Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The esteemed faculty also includes professors from leading conservatories such as the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, Manhattan School of Music, Juilliard School, Seoul National University, University of Geneva and Kunst-Universität Graz.
The orchestral concert program includes Wagner’s thrilling Flying Dutchman Overture, Debussy’s evocative La Mer, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s beloved Scheherazade.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
A completed application form, audition video recordings uploaded via Acceptd, and the application fee must be received by 11:59 pm* on February 10, 2026*.
We will not hold live auditions, nor receive materials by postal mail. Please submit your recorded video audition materials online.

VIDEO RECORDING GUIDELINES
- We accept audition repertoire in single or multiple uploads. Any indication of editing will result in the disqualification of the applicant.
- Live concert video recordings from within the past 12 months can be used in the solo repertoire category.
- We strongly recommend you view your recording all the way through before submitting.
- Piano accompaniment is recommended for concertos but not required.

AGE LIMIT
16 – 28 as of August 1, 2026.

RESULTS
Audition results will be announced by mid-March 2026.
NOTES
Applicants who have already participated three or more times are encouraged to apply again, but should understand that it may be necessary to give preferential consideration to new applicants.
PROGRAM PERIOD
Monday, July 27– Sunday, August 9, 2026
Participants are required to arrive on July 26, 2026, and depart on August 10, 2026.
CURRICULUM
- Personal Instruction: Benefit from three individual lessons, designed to elevate your technique and artistry under the guidance of exceptional faculty.
- Orchestral Excellence: Experience six intensive rehearsals and perform in three concerts alongside all-star faculty, held in world-renowned concert halls.
- Chamber Music Immersion: Engage in a week of chamber music coachings and rehearsals alongside all star faculty members, culminating in a performance at the prestigious National Concert Recital Hall.
- Mastery Beyond the Stage: Participate in masterclasses, studio classes, and mock auditions to refine your performance skills and build confidence for high-pressure situations.
- Inspiring Discussions: Join forums and panel discussions designed to deepen your understanding of music and foster meaningful connections with faculty and peers.
TUITION
- Tuition: US$2,000
- Campus lodging and food: US$500
Total: US$2,500
SCHOLARSHIP
- TMAF offers numerous merit-based and need-based scholarships.
- Grants for travel and lodging are available.
- All applicants are considered for merit-based scholarships.
- After being accepted to TMAF, it is possible to apply for the need-based scholarships if required.
LODGING AND FOOD
- Tuition does not include costs for campus lodging and food.
- Dormitory accommodation (Double Room) is available on the TNUA campus. Should you request a single room, you are responsible for the extra charge.
- Campus lodging is not a requirement. However, we strongly recommend staying on campus to experience the various activities offered by TMAF.
- The campus lodging and food fee includes daily breakfast and lunch. Meals on concert days and during tour performances will be provided by TMAF.
TRAVEL
TMAF will provide transportation and lodging during the concert tour.
