Audition Repertoires

Video Recording Guidelines

Video recordings must contain all audition repertoire in the order listed below.
Each work should be submitted in a separate media file. Any indication that there has been editing will result in the disqualification of the applicant.
Live concert video recording within past 12 months can be used in the solo repertoire category.
We strongly recommend you view your recording all the way through before submitting

  1. One movement of a major concerto (Mozart accepted), cadenza included OR A major concert piece (Examples: Sarasate: Carmen Fantasy, Chausson: Poème, Saint-Saëns: Introduction & Rondo capriccioso, etc.)
  2. Chamber music excerpt:
    F. Mendelssohn: String Octet, Op.20, Scherzo, beginning to the double bar (music provided)
  3. Orchestral excerpts:
    • P. I. Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Strings, 2nd movement "Waltz" - letter C to E (music provided)
    • Richard Strauss: Don Juan - first bar to B (music provided)
  1. One movement of a major concerto or sonata
  2. One movement of a Bach Suite
  3. W. A. Mozart: String Quintet No.3 in C major, K.515 - Andante, m. 40 to downbeat of m. 56 (music provided)
  4. P. I. Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Strings, 1st movement - Letter D to E (music provided)
  5. P. I. Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Strings, 2nd movement - four bars after D – one bar after E (music provided)
