Audition Repertoires

Video Recording Guidelines

  1. Video recordings must contain all audition repertoire in the order listed below.
  2. Each work should be submitted in a separate media file. Any indication that there has been editing will result in the disqualification of the applicant.
  3. Live concert video recording within past 12 months can be used in the solo repertoire category.
  • We strongly recommend you view your recording all the way through before submitting
  1. First movement exposition of a major concerto
  2. A movement of J. S. Bach sonata or partita for solo violin (if Ciaconna, please end at bar 89)
  3. P. I. Tchaikovsky: String Sextet, Souvenir de Florence, second movement excerpt (music provided)
  4. S. Prokofiev: Symphony No. 1, Classical excerpts (music provided)
  1. Any movement of Bach cello suites or solo violin sonatas and partitas
  2. First movement of any major concerto
  3. B. Smetana: String Quartet excerpts (music provided)
  4. L. v. Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, Eroica, third movement, beginning to bar 119 (music provided)
  1. First movement exposition of any major cello concerto (F. J. Haydn included)
  2. One movement from a Bach Suite
  3. J. Brahms: G major string Quintet, Opus 111, first movement (music provided)
  4. P. I. Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6, second movement (music provided)

Solo:

  • One solo piece of the applicant's choice
