TMAF welcomes Lin Jiang and Katy Woolley to 2024 TMAF as faculty!

We regret to announce that our horn faculty, Mr. Philip Myers, has withdrawn from TMAF due to family reasons. We are delighted and grateful that both Mr. Lin Jiang and Ms. Katy Woolley have agreed to step in as our new horn faculty. Mr. Jiang is the Principal Horn of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Woolley is the Principal Horn of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. We warmly welcome both Mr. Jiang and Ms. Woolley to 2024 TMAF!

TMAF welcomes Jelena Dirks to 2024 TMAF as faculty!

We are honored to have Ms. Jelena Dirks join the oboe faculty. Ms. Dirks currently serves as the Principal Oboist of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Known for her “luminous solos” (Chicago Classical Review), she is a highly praised teacher, performer and chamber musician. We warmly welcome Ms. Dirks to 2024 TMAF. TMAF welcomes Joel Smirnoff to TMAF 2023 as faculty! TMAF’s former Artistic Director, Cho-Liang Lin, will not be participating in all activities for TMAF 2023. We are delighted and grateful that Joel Smirnoff has agreed to step in as our new violin faculty. TMAF welcomes the prominent pianist Garrick Ohlsson as guest artist of TMAF@SF 2021! Pianist Garrick Ohlsson will join TMAF@SF 2021 and perform as a guest artist in the TMAF Faculty All-Star Concert on August 4 in the Piano Quintet of Dvořák. Since his triumph as winner of the 1970 Chopin International Piano Competition, Garrick Ohlsson TMAF welcomes the prominent pianist Garrick Ohlsson as guest artist of TMAF@SF 2021!

TMAF welcomes Martin Chalifour to TMAF 2021 as faculty! Our violin faculty, Frank Huang, is forced to cancel his trip to Taipei due to a change of New York Philharmonic’s summer schedule. Many American orchestras are emerging from the pandemic induced work stoppage.
